Richard Bechtel

A seasoned practitioner with over 25 years of experience, BCG founder Richard Bechtel has a diverse knowledge base that spans organi­za­tional dynamics, strategic and business planning, corporate posi­tioning, succession planning, management process improvement, market research and planning, and sales management and training. His accomplishments include the following:

​

  • Conducted executive development workshops for senior corporate leaders

  • Led advisory boards for business owners and CEO’s

  • Provided training in strategic planning, management process, sales and customer service

  • Developed and executed strategic, business and marketing plans

  • Installed and facilitated management committee processes

  • Re-engineered marketing, customer service and sales operations

  • Led corporate and brand identity development programs

  • Facilitated corporate reorganizations

  • Conducted process and productivity enhancement programs at all levels

As a consultant, Rick’s clientele has spanned the legal & financial ser­vices, architectural & engineering, distribution & manufacturing, nursery & horticulture, environmental, health care, insurance, construction, hospitality and real estate, industries, as well as nonprofit organizations.

​

In addition to his consulting practice, Richard chairs the Marketing Executive Roundtable, comprised of senior marketing officers in their respective organizations. He has served as an executive VP and chief marketing officer for a large manufac­turing/dis­tribution company, as VP of public relations for a leading northwest advertising agency, as director of marketing for both a leading law firm and a large regional CPA firm, and as a quantitative research director in the public sector.

Rick’s work has won awards from the Public Relations Society of America, the American Hotel & Motel Association and the Legal Marketing Association.  He is a graduate of Michigan State University’s doctoral program in Communication, and has taught at both the university and junior college levels.  He has held leadership roles with the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, Marketing Communications Executives International, the Traveler’s Aid Society, the Irrigation Association and the North American Horticulture Supply Association.
